How credits work
One balance. A conversion costs 1 credit; a diagram drawn from a description costs 20, because that one asks a model and every call is a real bill. Restyling, editing, dragging and exporting cost nothing — you paid to convert the file, not to look at it in a different colour.
A generated diagram is a fixed price, not metered by size, so what you can afford is something you can work out in advance.
What happens at the end of the month
On a paid plan, unused credits roll over — being busy in March should not cost you April — up to 3 months' worth. Past that a balance stops growing, and we say so in your history rather than letting you find out. On the free plan they do not roll over at all: the grant is a taste, and a free account banking a year of it is a paid account nobody paid for.
Credits you buy never expire on any plan, and are spent only after your monthly ones — so a top-up is never eaten while a grant that was about to lapse sits unused.
What private actually means
Free diagrams you keep go to the public gallery — that is the trade for a free tool, and you are told before anything is saved. On a paid plan a diagram can be private: never in the gallery, and its link works only for you. Nothing you merely convert and close is stored either way.
